CCO Club and Student Support Hub Terms of Service (TOS)

The CCO Club and CCO Student Support Hubs (SSHs) are intended to be an area where it’s members can view and comment on various topics.  It is also a place to socialize and support one another.  All posts in the club area are to be of a positive supportive nature.  Whenever a group of people come together there is need to set some ground rules so it can be a pleasant experience for all.  Following is a list of such guidelines. Saying you were unaware of these rules will not be an acceptable excuse should we decide to remove your access.

If any violations of these rules occur it is grounds for expulsion from the club without refund – prorated or otherwise.  If you feel someone is not adhering to the rules please report via this form – do not call the person out in the public. If you have questions about this document or if you have suggestions on items that should be added to this document open a support ticket.   We will address it accordingly.

Warning. Your postings in the Club or Hubs should be considered public.

It is a privilege to post in the CCO Club and Student Support Hubs, not a right. This privilege can be revoked at any time, and at the sole discretion of CCO, with or without warning or notice and without refund of any associated purchases. The basic ground rules for discussions on CCO are simple: be polite, use common sense, don’t break the law, realize that information posted here is mostly opinion, and don’t post any message that even hints at advertising another product or service. We don’t intend to censor messages based on the opinions expressed within posts, but we will enforce the policies outlined both here. We reserve the right to remove, modify or move posts at our discretion and without explanation. Please contact CCO directly if you do not understand any of the rules, guidelines or terms of service outlined below.

Deletion or moderation of your posts, suspension or removal of your club account are definite consequence of not adhering to these guidelines.

General Discussion Forum Rules:

These rules apply to all discussion areas.

  1. Be civil. Anyone being rude, abusive, calling names or generally trying to stir up trouble will not be tolerated. If you think someone is wrong it may be because they are new. Don’t jump on them, think first. If you are repeatedly abusive you will be banned from these forums. Specific behavior that will not be tolerated and will result in post removal / banning includes:
    • Bashing: Deliberately and repeatedly bashing the same brand, product or company. If you have a complaint or comment to make, make it once and make sure you have facts to support it.
    • Flaming: Insulting, abusive, malicious, personal attacks.
    • Trolling: Deliberately antagonizing other forum users by posting ‘flame bait.’
    • Swearing: Using profanity (or changing characters to bypass our profanity filters)
  2. Personal information. We would advise you don’t share any personally identifiable information publicly on these forums. Publishing personal information about a third party without their permission will result in a permanent ban. Sharing the content of private messages on the forums without permission is not allowed. We recommend you edit your profile and remove your email address and physical address and provide generic information you are comfortable being public.  Simply stating your are from “South Texas” is enough information. See graphic attached to see how to change your profile easily to remove personal information.
  3. Stay ‘on topic’. Please keep all non-coding-related messages to the status side (left side) of the discussion area. Off Topic messages (considered those not directly related to medical coding, billing, etc. ) may be removed. Repeated posting of off topic messages in the wrong forums will lead to a ban. Please also ensure you’re using the appropriate forum when creating threads.
  4. If you SPAM our members in any manner, your membership will be revoked. Do not contact anyone to suggest your product or service who is not explicitly expecting you to contact them. If you gleaned information from anywhere on our site and use that to contact someone and present an offer, it’s SPAM.
  5. Your account is yours alone. You are responsible for any activity created with it. When you post something, it is public, it will be visible to thousands of members, and potentially the world. Information posted in our forums should not be considered private.

  7. All publicly displayed messages are limited to the English language. This includes posts, titles, signatures, and any attachments or other forms of public display.

  12. You may not solicit any external source to post on this forum regarding your company, services, or products; or any company, services, or products you are or may be associated with.
  13. You may not post on behalf of any banned member in any public manner. This includes all forums, private messages, signatures, and e-mail features.
  14. You may not post words or URLs that are censored by adding spaces, dots, or substituting characters; or by any other means in an attempt to defeat any censors put in place by CCO. Please contact CCO if you feel a word or URL is unjustly censored. Bottom line: please use clean language.
  15. You may not link, in any manner, to sites or images containing pornography, sexually explicit, gross violence, or are determined by moderators to be detrimental to the community.

  19. Public posts debating these rules and/or moderators’ enforcement of such, will be removed without comment. We encourage feedback however and invite you to contact CCO directly if you have any questions or concerns.

  25. You may not solicit users for feedback or suggestions on your product or services.
  26. You may not solicit users for any project or purpose external to the forum; public, private, or commercial. Most importantly our member base is not a resource to be “mined” by individuals, groups, or businesses, for profit or not for profit.
  27. You may only discuss details about your company and/or product offerings when the thread starter or poster has made direct reference to your company and stated something untrue or misleading, or something which clearly needs clarifying. The response must be in direct reference to the point discussed only and contain no added promotional information and/or fluff. It is advisable when in the above scenario to contact us first.
  28. Legal ownership. Each message posted is owned by and the opinion of the original poster. Neither CCO nor its owners or webmaster are legally responsible for anything posted on these forums.
