HCPCS 2016 HCPCS Book

Hi I am so confused on a few things and was hoping someone could clear something up for me. I bill and code for a laboratory provider. I am getting mixed information. Is the 2016 HCPCS code book incorrect? Someone told me that there are quite a few codes missing and some codes listed that have been deleted? Has anyone else heard this?

1. My question if its listed in the HCPCS book in 2016 is it deleted?

2. Per this link it says drug testing codes are deleted but they aren't shown as deleted in HCPCS book?

3. Have these codes been deleted? G6030-G6058 they don't show deleted in HCPCS book.

Thank you greatly for your help
Micah

If you got your HCPCS book before the January 1st 2016, the codes will still be there. I got mine after January 1st 2016 and the codes were still in the book. I got an update from http://www.codingupdates.com/, a website runned by Elsevier, that said that these codes were deleted as of January 1st 2016. In order for me not to use these after that date, I wrote myself a note in the book next to Drugs section so it will read like this: Drugs - deleted 1/1/2016. So when I go to the Drugs section in the G Codes, I will see that note and know not to use those codes.

Depends on the publisher i think. I have Optum since i heard AAPC always has issues with theirs all the time. The Optum book has the codes with a line through them
