In ICD-10-CM there is not a hypertension table like you were used to using in ICD-9-CM. You would use the index and the tabular to look for the proper code. Another thing to note that is different with ICD-10-CM there is no distingtion between essential, benign, and malignant hypertnestion like there is in ICD-9-CM.

Alicia Scott discussed the new ICD-10-CM 2017 guideline changes to I.A.15 in the October 2016 Q&A Webinar. You can check this out in the CCO CCO Club or in the CCO Club (which is about to be launched). The topic name was ICD-10-CM: Hypertension and Heart Disease.
