Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) Program

I applied for a job with Medicare Risk Adjustment Specialist at Meridian Health Plan, Detroit, MI 48226

Once I applied, it sent me a confirmation email thanking me for my application and then it sent me a link to complete out a quick 3-4 min questionnaire. The email said this,

"Final Step: Meridian participates in the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) Program. We request that you access the link below for a brief questionnaire which takes about 3-4 minutes to complete. Your responses to the questions will be confidential. https://wotc.adp.com/?meridianhealth
Once there, click the Continue button as seen below to begin the process.

Upon completion of the screening, you will be given a confirmation number. Please record this number."

The first question wants my
SSN
Name
Address

This seems like fraud to me. So I didn't complete it.

What are your experiences with this?

I'm not familiar with this program, nor am I a lawyer, but a employer should give you a formal offer / contract before they ask for SSN. They don't need your SSN until they are setting up to pay you.

That is what I feel too.
I found the company's website, called them, and spoke to one of their recruiters, and they said, yes, we had to do the same thing too. So I guess it's real. I didn't end up going forward because it turned out that the job wasn't remote. Very weird and yea, it made me feel uncomfortable for sure!
