I am going to be taking the course to get my certification for the CPC. Should I wait till the ICD-10 to come out before I take the course and the exam or should I take it now. I have 6 months to take the course and them it will be pretty close to the ICD-10 What to do??????

In summary,
DO NOT WAIT!1. Guidelines (comparing ICD-9-CM to ICD-10-CM) are mostly the same with a few additions.

2. Looking up a code is done the same in both codes sets.

3. Employers will want you to be able to use BOTH code sets. (Some things are not going to use ICD10, such as Workmen's Compensation.)
