Laureen: Right.

Q-20: ICD-10 launch, is it in 2014 or 2015?

A: For real, going to definitely be here October 1, 2014. It was supposed to be this year, 2013, but they pushed it back one year. And they swear that they are not going to change it, and I believe it.

Alicia: Yeah.

Boyd: And there’s a big countdown clock on the CCO website right now.

Alicia: That’s right!

Laureen: I love it.

Alicia: Because we like ICD-10.

Laureen: Yup! So we have 313 days, 1 hour 18 minutes and 31 seconds. Give or takea few hours depending on –

Alicia: There is always a little bit of a question about after it launches October 1st you’re still in 2014, your 2014 will still be tested in ICD-9. But from October 1st on, you’ll be able to take the proficiency exam for ICD-10. But after the end of the year, for January 1, 2015 it’s ICD-10; no ICD-9 in the CPC exam. Just to clarify.
