How Long Does It Take to Complete a Full Course?

It is really up to each student how long a full Course takes to complete. We had one student dedicate 8-10 hours per day to the PBC Medical Coding Course and they were able to complete it in less than 2 months. Most students, however, typically complete their Courses in four (4) to seven (7) months while others may take longer due to limited time, schedules and commitments.

Please keep this time frame in mind when purchasing books and manuals. Please read our FAQ at the top of the book page for more information.

Regardless of your circumstances, we understand that everyone is different so we provide 9 months of access (calculated as 270 days) in case “life gets in the way” and you need extra time to complete your Course.

It’s important to note that a Course’s hourly length does not equal the amount of time required to study. So if a Course is advertised as a 40-hour course, it does not mean 40 hours are required to complete the course. It means that there are 40 hours of video instruction included inside the Course.

Remember, you have the following benefits while taking our Courses:

  • Each video is between 30 – 90 minutes in length.
  • You can pause the videos.
  • You can rewatch the videos in the areas you need to work on.
  • If it’s a medical coding area that you feel comfortable with, you can skip it and save time studying.
  • You can spend more time studying problem areas.

If you ever run out of time, you can extend access to the Course by joining the CCO Club. As long as you’re an active CCO Club member, you’ll be able to access all your past Course and Review Blitz purchases.
